The Lab Technician is the Artist in cosmetic dentistry. His skill and artistic ability play a very important role in the appearance and function of the final result. Most cosmetic dentistry patients do not realize the amount of color and characterization that create a natural looking tooth. Each tooth has a special chewing function in the mouth that must be replicated accurately. Communication with the lab technician ensures these subtle nuances are met and our cosmetic surgery patients receive their expectations.

The most challenging case is the single unit crown in the front area of the mouth. In order to match the teeth, we send our cosmetic dentistry patients to the laboratory for a custom shade. This will enable the lab technician to see, up close and personal, all the many shades of color in the teeth. Without this visit, the lab cannot possible duplicate the colors to the level necessary for a natural appearance.
