Oral Conscious Sedation in Fort Worth, TX

Enjoy Stress-Free Dentistry

Hand holding a sedative pill

In some cases, Dr. Kelly Blair may prescribe an oral sedative, like valium or halcion, to settle a patient’s nerves and ensure a comfortable dental care experience. When using these sedatives for conscious sedation, the pills should be taken as directed about an hour prior to a dental procedure. The patient must not drive under the sedative’s influence; we require that you make arrangements for an escort to take you to and from our office if you plan to use oral conscious sedation. We also suggest that you stay home all day following your visit and only return to normal activities after a good night’s sleep. Ask about oral sedation dentistry if you:

  • Feel scared, anxious, nervous, or stressed about visiting the dentist
  • Do not respond well to local anesthesia
  • Have physical discomfort during long procedures
  • Need many procedures done in a short time
  • Have a handicap that makes dental work difficult

Please call us today to request oral conscious sedation for your next appointment.
