Silver Filling Removal in Fort Worth, TX
Silver Filling Removal
Despite their name, silver fillings are made out of a blend of metals that usually consists of over 50% mercury. This substance (amalgam) is known to be harmful and can expose patients to unnecessary toxicity. Additionally, the presence of silver fillings is esthetically-displeasing because it creates a patchy-looking smile.
If you would like to protect your wellbeing and improve your appearance, ask Dr. Kelly Blair about replacing your amalgam fillings with natural-colored restorations. This process requires precision and skill, and she is highly practiced at performing filling removals for the benefit of our patients.
You will wear protective eyewear throughout the procedure to prevent exposure to harmful particles and vapors. Dr. Blair starts the process by drilling out the amalgam fillings, taking special care using water and air during the process to reduce heat. Keeping the fillings cool during removal ensures the amount of mercury vapor being released is minimal. Using the Isolite suction system, we also take careful precautions to limit your exposure to mercury vapor and amalgam particles. Isolite is a high volume, powerful suction system used by Dr. Blair throughout the entire process.
